Incubator Sinergana
By developing the Sinergana Incubator, Rijeka has chosen to invest in the development of the IT sector and creative and smart-city industries, which have been recognized as the industries of the future. Sinergana has been formed as part of the EU project 'Creative Technologies and IT Industry Incubator – Energana', with the aim of improving the competitiveness and encouraging the growth of small and medium-sized enterprises in the Rijeka urban agglomeration.
The incubator is primarily intended for business start-ups and new companies in IT, creative industries and similar areas such as smart industries, as well as startups emerging from the programs of the Rijeka Startup Incubator. The incubator activities are also oriented on science and development institutions, higher education institutions, university and high school students, artists, and educational and cultural institutions. Through integrated activities, the Sinergana users are supported in developing new products and services, networking, business internationalization and search for funding sources.

BUSINESS INTERNATIONALIZATION
In each of the three thematic modules, users are offered full support: training courses, workspace, equipment and tools, themed events and mentoring.
In addition, there is an artificial intelligence laboratory (AI Lab) with ICT equipment for educating the entrepreneurs engaged in artificial intelligence-related work; IoT/robotics workshop for practical use of IoT and robotic equipment, testing and system development; classroom for computer game development, with workstations and software for all segments of game development, including 3D printer and 3D scanner, and photo / video studio with professional cameras, lighting, infinity curves, sound and graphics studio, and screening room.
Sinergana also has a Data Center, offering data storage services to its users and interested companies.
Functional space for working and networking
Sinergana spreads over more than 2,700 net square meters on five floors, containing 24 office spaces i.e. incubation units for entrepreneurs, classrooms, lounge rooms and meeting rooms, multifunctional hall, co-working space and other resources necessary for productive work and a pleasant use of the spaces.
EU co-funding
Sinergana Incubator is built in the premises of the former paper factory power station. Renovation and reconstruction of the building, the purchase of basic and specialized equipment for the facilities, delivery of incubation programs and services, and promotional and other activities are co-financed from the EU funds, as part of the project 'Energana – Creative Technologies and IT Industry Incubator'. The value of the project is EUR 6,115,447, of which EUR 4,195,756 is provided by the European Regional Development Fund – Operational Programme 'Competitiveness and Cohesion 2014–2020' through the Integrated Territorial Investment (ITU mechanisms), and EUR 366,616 by the Ministry of Regional Development and EU Funds. The City of Rijeka’s own share in financing of the project is EUR 1,593,850.
